Commodore Martin Brooker (Retired) is a trusted strategic advisor, leadership expert and executive coach. He is passionate about people leading people in constructive cultures, leveraging ethical people strategies to achieve high performance and improved business outcomes.
During a 37 year career in the Royal Australian Navy, Martin’s service included command of an Amphibious Ship in the Middle East and the Pacific, the Navy’s elite Clearance Divers, and Deputy Commander of Australia’s Joint Forces in the Middle East and Afghanistan. His lived experience also includes leading teams implementing cultural change programs in Defence and he was the program director for Navy’s biggest change program, NGN.
With an innate ability to think laterally and lead in complex environments, Martin brings to the Public Sector Advisory Board, excellent conceptual and analytical skills. As an experienced program leader and facilitator of capability delivery and change management programs in the public sector, Martin provides crucial leadership influence with internal and external stakeholders; focusing on the potential of individuals and teams.
Martin is an AACTP qualified executive coach, graduate of AICD Company Directors Course and QUT School of Business. Martin is also an RUOK Community Ambassador and an advocate for inclusion and diversity.
